What some of the users have said about CleanUp! 2.0 (and earlier)
CleanUp! 1.1 was also featured on the "Everything On Computers" radio show on KSFO Talk Radio in San Francisco back in 1999. They then posted a summary on their web site, a copy of which is reproduced here.
You may also be interested to read ZDNet's review of CleanUp! 1.1. Unfortunately, ZDNet has since changed their submissions policy and it is now necessary to pay them when uploading a file (whereas it was free before). As a result, don't expect to see an updated review of CleanUp! from them anytime soon.
Below are a selection of the comments and feedback I have received from users of Windows CleanUp! over the last 4+ years. If most of these seem a little dated, it is only because I have not taken the time to update this page. I still receive several e-mails along these lines each day. :-)
CleanUp! 2.0 performs better than Norton SystemWorks 2002 on Windows XP
 "When I installed Windows XP...I did not download Cleanup as I believe I read at that time it was not ready for XP.
I have been running Norton SystemWorks 2002 since the installation of XP. [...] I religiously run the Norton SystemWorks 2002 Utilities and clean up any errors found .. and then run Clean Sweep. Slowly, since the installation, the amount of space Norton did not completely clean grew from like 112kb to 1.91MB.
Well, last night ... I decided to live dangerously and download CleanUp! as I felt my once speedy 1.1 ghz (512 mb ram) machine was starting to get a little sluggish. I honestly had not looked at my temp files as Norton was supposedly taking care of it.........
I started to run CleanUp! at 12:45am ...just before going to bed. I then sat for about 10 mins ... and kept seeing things scrolling by and figured I would do my bed time chores while it finished running. I locked the doors, shut off lights ... got my night time meds and glass of water, changed clothes ... and came back in the computer room about 1:20 ... it was still running ...
So, I decided to watch the news ... and then started watching a movie. I came in the computer room again about 2:00am ... it was still running ...
Back to bed and the TV ... watched more TV ... and came back in at 2:30am ... it was still running! I decided to do a properties on the internet files folder ... and that took forever to run as CleanUp! was still running ... but I did find there were 1.7 GB of files! I was concerned!
I finally went to sleep about 3:00am ... I got up at 7:15am and found it had cleaned/recovered 1.78 GB of space! Wow! I was shocked! lol!", Miss Rose, Las Vegas (April 6, 2002)
