The following screenshots have all been captured when running Index Dat Spy under Windows XP. However, similar information will be displayed when running under other versions of Windows. It is just that the windows themselves may be displayed slightly differently.

The first image below is of the main Index Dat Spy window after opening a sample index.dat file from the Temporary Internet Files folder of a Windows XP machine running IE 6.0. Note that the column displaying the URLs has deliberately been shrunk down in part to hide the full URLs and in part to allow you to see the other columns.

 

 

The following image shows the details of one of the URL records. Such details are available for every record in the index.dat file.
